This is "Gabby" carved from a Cherry Log in 2012 and here is his story.
He goes by the name of "Gaddy", given this handle by the local hunters, because he shows up at hunting camps just to visit and enjoy a meal when offered. Some say he is a ghost; others say he is an old Mountain Man that lives off the land, searches for gold, garnets and rubies. Gabby is known by many and seen by few. Anyone that meets him describes him as talkative, friendly, pleasant, show up unexpectedly and slips away quietly. Whoever he is, he is always welcomed at your camp and becomes the "talk" of the hunt for years after. Hunters who have met him, seem to never forget him or his tales. They bring stories of Gabby back only to make the legend grow stronger. No forest ranger has ever seen him, but others have. It is assumed that Gabby may take game without a license; hikes and camps the Bridger Mountains without a permit; and makes the mountains his home. Maybe there is a reason no ranger has ever had the pleasure of his acquaintance.
